    Hello All

I have a small network of around 30 machines. I have installed SEP 11 Server and deployed to the managed clients. My  problem is that after deployment some PCs show symantec auto protect disabled with a red circle on the task bar while other PCs show ok. I have tried to compare the PCs in terms of services, firewall, OS and SPs installed on them but they are almost similar.

On the problem PCs , I have also scanned for viruses using Bart PE and avast but could not help.

Tried also to uninstall -remove the registry key Vprotect6 from registry- run nonav - and then install again- but same problem

    Please help

I believe that we had a similar problem with an earlier version of SEP. Which version are you using?

Yes, I think you were right., two changes  I made solved the problem, I dont know exactly which one.

    a. Upgraded to SEP11 MR4 MP1 ( The version installed earlier was the original version on the CD)

    b. Changed the SEP Server (it was installed on a PC running XP SP2) to windows 2003 SP2, also the machine is an additional DC to the domain

    Thanks a lot Maximilan

Updating to newer versions seems to help for a lot of things :)
