SEP 11 prevent files with arabic name to open or preview

    hi

    when we open any files created with arabic letters as file name, SEP 11 installed PC's not able to preview the file and even if we open the file the contects will be blank.

    how to fix this issue

    Hi,

    What is the version of SEP client you are using on this machine? As you mentioned that with SEP client installed, you are unable to open the arabic files, so when you uninstall the SEP client, you are able to oprn the files.

    Is that correct?

    Have you installed a language pack on this machine, or is it chose at the time of installation only.

    so there is no other way to solve this..then how its possible to use SEP in middle east countries, if they save any files in arabic characters, how can they see the file afterwards.

    i can open the file, but the contents is showing a blank page, even in preview also its showing blank. once i uninstall SEP from the pc i can see the contents of the file. the version is SEP 11.

    language packages are installed on the machine

    It is better to upgrade to RU5 since it is having a lot of new features and many bugs fixed in it..

    Hi,

    We need to know the exact version of the SEP client you are using. For that you need to open the SEP client interface, click on Help & Support -> About and type the complete version number. E.g. 11.0.4014.26.

    If it is not 11.0.5002.333 , you are not on the latest version. In that case you need to upgrade to the latest version. Please refer to the following KB : http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/fb9ee7eec2adf4508825762600724ee3?OpenDocument

    We have encountered this issue and it still occurs with RU5. Using MR3, MR4 or RU5 it has not made any difference.

    I can't reproduce the error. For a file by the name " الاختبار " it seems to be working okay. Is this on the localized OS only?
