    Dears,

When I renew the license of SEP12 from the manager GUI will this replace the old expired license or both (the new and the old expired) licenses exist ? also if both exist will I need to delete it manually?

    Thanks in Advance.

You'll be taken to their site where you can buy more license. You should be sent an SLF license file to manually import. Expired licenses will need to be manually deleted.

    Dear Brian,

Thank you for your very quick response, so assuming that I have the new .slf license file I will have to delete the expired license first then I activate the new license?

    Thanks in Advance

You can import the new SLF file. It takes affect immediately. The expired license can be deleted before or after you import the new SLE file. They're already expired so it doesn't matter when they get deleted.

    Hello Ahmed,

When you renew a license, the management server removes and replaces the expired license with a new license.

You can manually remove and add the latest license as well.

Sorry to post to a solved topic, but I have a slight variation on the issue. My environment is 12.x and still showing expired licenses because the renewals were issued (and imported) as 14.x. I know we can ask for them to be re-issued for v12, but we plan on migrating in the next few months.

My question is whether I can delete the expired v12's now and still run ok on the v14's until upgrade time?

A 14 license will also apply to 12.1 clients.
