  • 1.  SEP 12.1.4 to SEP 12.1.6 MP5 upgrade

We have a few Windows 7 Pro 64 bit unmanaged clients that we want to upgrade from SEP 12.1.4 to SEP 12.1.6 MP5.

Question 1.   Can we upgrade the clients directly from SEP 12.1.4 to SEP 12.1.6 MP5?

Question 2.   We've downloaded both the "full install" and the "clients only" files from fileconnect.  Which is the best file to use to get the unmanaged clients to SEP 12.1.6 MP5?  We're assuming that the "clients only" contains everything we need, including the 64 bit SEP 12.1.6 MP5 client and that we probably don't need the "full install" file.

Is the installation similar to previous versions? I.e., you run setup, the old version is uninstalled and the new 12.1.6 MP5 client is installed with the client's settings brought forward from the previous version.

Any other considerations we should be aware of?

    Thanks,

    Wally

    1. Yes

    2. The full install contains everything - SEPM, clients, documentation so you can either pull the client install from it or just download the clients only file as well.

The upgrade is the same as previous versions.

Also, just as an FYI, but 12.1.6 MP6 just came out a couple weeks ago so 12.1.6 MP5 is not the latest.

Upgrade or migrate to Endpoint Protection 12.1.6 - 12.1.6 MP6
