  • 1.  SEP 12.1.6 MP9 upgrade from SEP 12.1.6 MP6

    Posted Jan 24, 2018 02:52 AM

Is it advisable to deploy 12.1.6 MP9 to an environment with 7000+ machines and has 12.1.6 MP6 installed?

what is the advantage and disadvantages?

Or should we directly go to SEP 14, within two months time?

Is it a normal upgrade? opr does the Schema of the database change like in 14 and creates lots of hump stones

Please i need more reviews, as Symantec Support says that the Upgrade to 14.1 from MP6 is possible but not recommoned, as it gives lots of issues on databse migration.

They suggest Migration from MP9 to 14.1 is an easier transition.

    please confirm. Any supporting documents

    You can go to 14 MP1 (not just 14)directly from 12.1.6 MP6

The following versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and Symantec Endpoint Protection Windows client can upgrade directly to 14.0.1 MP1:

    • 12.1.x, up to 12.1.6 MP9 (12.1.7369.6900)

You cannot upgrade Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1.6 MP7 to version 14 because the database schema version in 12.1.6 MP7 is later than in 14. Instead, you must upgrade 12.1.6 MP7 to 14 MP1 or later

    Hello team,

Does the Upgrade from 12.1.6 MP 6 require the SQL Database user account?
