    macOS 10.13 High Sierra and Windows 10 Redstone 3 are supported in SEP 14 RU1. We're expecting to release RU1 very soon.

    SEP 14 RU1 is the first SEP version that is partly managed in the cloud.

    It is going to be very interesting to see how this hybrid approach with both on-premise SEPM and a cloud portal will improve security and add functionality never seen in SEP before.

    I can not really understand why to announce that a new version is released, but still over 12 hours since the firs KB update about the new version there are no new version to download from fileconnect?

    FYI - RU1 is offered in fileconnect however the Akamai NetSession interface seemed to still download MP2. Skipped the manager an used direct link instead.

    Hi,

    I was reading some of the documentation that describes the differences between 14.0.1 and 14.1.  I understand 14.1 includes the new cloud portal plus the 14.0.1 components. FileConnect currently offers 14.0.1.  Does this mean 14.1 is coming for the cloud portal?  This all a bit fuzzy to me.  Any clarification here would be appreciated.

    Just read up on SEP Deception. Am I understanding it correctly that it is only useful when you have been infilitrated but you are unsure from where and whom? There are 2 HI and 1 ADC policy.

    Did you upgrade to RU1? If so, a cloud tab is available at the bottom and an Enroll Now button at the top.

    hi Brian,

    Yes, already upgrade RU1, else I can't see the enroll button from Symantec Manager.

    I follow the video, fill in the info and click register, then it go to page verify your account.

    1 step is say that I should receive an enrollment activation email shortly.

    But, untill today still no receive any. Might going to open a support ticket then.

    God, Symantec just drives me nuts with their numbering system.

    So, if I go to FileConnect and download the latest vesion of SEPM software. Then install it on my SEPM server which is currenty running 14.0.2415.0200, and it successfully upgrades to 14.0.3752.100, am I now running 14.0.1 or 14.1 or whatever?

    All I really need is the new Symantec client for MAC 10.13 High Sierra. If I generate a client using that 3752.100 install package,  will that work OK on MAC 10.13?

    Keep in mind that a 14.MPx SEPM can't manage 14.0.1 clients. So importing just the packages won't work with this specific version. "Earlier Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 14 versions cannot manage Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.0.1 clients You must manage Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.0.1 clients with a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager that also runs version 14.0.1. Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager for versions 14, 14 MP1, and MP2 cannot correctly manage the later version 14.0.1.     Already open case, but one week more already pass...received call, but still pending solutions..

    I just wish to check out more info myself.

    My company SEPM server OS is Win2k8 R2 Standard, what is your OS version?

    I'm doubt if maybe because of OS version?

     

    I just notice today, there are new feature call Application Hardening in the client installation package.

    But it requires:

    - Enrollment in the cloud portal

    - A subscription for Symantec Endpoint Protection Hardening.

    - The additional operating system requirements that Application Hardening requires.

     

    Do you already try out this feature? I can't find out info about this.

    I'm glad that I am not the only one that thought the numbering system did not make logocal sense. 

    I had also found on the download page the date was listed as October 2016 and not 2017.

    Hi,

    Is there any way to get rid of the introduction banner at the top of the home page with the Enroll Now button?  I have tried enrolling and looking in the settnigs but there does not appear that there is any way to make it dissappear.  As we can use the cloud button to enroll, we should not need this banner. 

    Please tell me how it can be removed.

    Hi Pradeep,

    Are you planning to migrate the machines to a v14 or v12 SEPM ?

    1) In the case of migrating to v14 -

    a) Setup the v14 SEPM and install to new DB

    b) Deploy the communication package to all machines via the deployment wizard. You need admin rights to connect to the 700 clients.

    c) The communication package (sylink) file will redirect all clients to the new SEPM.

     

    2) In the case of migrating to v12 -

    a) Install an additional server to the site and connect to the same DB as the 1st. You need the DB credentials again.

    b) Update the management server list to include the details of the new SEPM

    c) Clients need to connect to 1st SEPM to obtain new MSL .

    d) Wait until all machines can be seen on the new SEPM and then decommission the old SEPM.

    For more info : I want to migrate V12 to another server with the same V12. Can you pls send me a doc bcause i am very new to this symantec migration. Also explain more about query like about the same IP and hostname or Different IP and hostname on new server. But I want to keep same IP and different ostname for new server..  

    Note: I dont want to do any changes on client machines.

    I shall be highly grateful to you if you send a document for step by step migration.

    My clients that are showing in the cloud portal after enrolling my SEPM all show a status of Unknown and don't have a "last connected" date/time stamp.  Is there a fix for that?

    When did you enroll? I've seen it take a couple hours to completely get synched up between on-prem and cloud. May just need to wait it out.

    I enrolled yesterday - I have 600+ clients - maybe it will just take a bit.  Are there any firewall ports, IPs or domains we should be aware of for proper cloud communication?

    Everything is over 443. Outside of that , documentation is sparse so I can't really say. There are two cloud bridge services on the SEPM that should also be running.

    Hi

    Cleint Wipe with 14.1 version

    I used cleanwipe , SEP client was not getting removed from Control panel .

    When we use Cleanwipe latest version , it will cleanup the CA application .

    then I tested with 2 client which are working fine , I got same issue after using Cleanwipe .

    Then I booked case with Symantec support team , I got message from Symantec support team I need submit to enhancement link

    I have a couple of clients who are seeking to move all on-premise SEPM to Cloud Only. Anyone knows if this is possible in this version?

    No. Completely different product. There is nothing yet for moving SEPM in the cloud.
