The installer operates without a hitch. But in SEP, there is the scary red X and instruction to "Fix".

But on the Security & Privacy panel,

in the bottom fourth where the "blocked" message and the "Allow" button should appear,

    there's nothing.

I have reinstalled and rebooted multiple times. Same thing.

The version is build 3752, the version provided by my institution.

    What advice, folks?

That's a poor answer and no help.

This is happening in my environment as well on Mac's only.  When Allow is selected, nothing happens.

I have also uninstalled and reinstalled. I've also done a refresh of the OS and it hasn't helped.

I now have several Mac's with this same issue happening.

I have v14.0.3752.100 on Macs too and we have no problem.

Yours sounds like something to do with the Macs itself. Are all Macs updated with the latest patches? On High Sierra?

For me, "Allow" doesn't show up at all.

This is MacBook Pro High Sierra 10.13.2.

Note: going from 10.13.1 to 10.13.2 caused external audio support to vanish (noted by many users.)

So there might be other problems introduced with 10.13.2.

Aha, updating from OSX 10.13.2 to 10.13.3 solved the problem.

We're on v10.13.3 too and it worked fine for us. So it's good that you've got this to work.

If you're happy with how it's working for you, please close this.

Cheers & have a good day.

I wish I could close the issue, but after a reboot the Fix button re-appears.

Again, when the Security and Privacy panel opens,

the Approve button and the message don't appear.

Rebooted again, same problem.  (Yes, at 10.13.3)

    Nothing has changed.

I will not close this issue.

I don't even know if SEP hais actually been working.

Lack of meaningful response is very disappointing.

Please read the article at https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.HOWTO127190.html

    Hope this helps

I read the article before my original post.
Doesn't work; that's the point of this thread.

Neither my organization tech support nor Symantec are able to help.
This is why I don't use Symantec any more.

We have been running SEP 14 RU1 MP2 on High Sierra, including 10.13.4, but did find that following instructions for authorizing kernel extensions for SEP requires to be done locally with a local (USB or wireless) keyboard. Performing those steps will any type of remote software will not work due to secure by Apple.

Holy Macaroni!  Like Scott K said, you have to click it with a local mouse. Can't do it over remote software.

    Hi Roger,

I have tested this with the most latest version - v14.0.3929.1200 and it works fine.

I think it's worth asking for a copy of the latest version and then giving it a go.

Do let us know how you get on with the latest version.

OMG - Sscott K. and Dana M. - I had the same issue - I thought I had a corrupted system!  I had someone locally click on the "allow" button and it went through!!!

    Recently installed build 3929.
No longer asking for kernel extension permission.
    Seems to be working fine.

I just wish Symantec had lowered itself to answer this issue.
What a waste of my time.

So... does there no longer usea kernel extension?
Or does it bypass user approval?

We are seeing this issue on 10.13.6, but instead of the allow botton now appearing, the "fix" button hangs when you click it. You can click it (locally) a million times and it doesn't do anything.
