Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition

Hello

I'm new to Symantec Endpoint Protection and I was wondering if someone could help me upgrade from v11 to v12.

I have imported the v12 client package into the SEP Manager and ran the update. All clients are now v12. I'm still figuring out how to upgrade the SEP Manager itself, for it is still v11. The files I can download on symantec fileconnect (product: SYMC ENDPOINT PROTECTION SMALL BUSINESS EDITION SM), only contain cab-files, no exe's. Can someone tell me how I can do the upgrade of SEP Manager without some kind of exe-files?

The clients are still having troubles receiving updates from the SEP manager, except for the client that is installed on the same machine as the SEP manager. I already tried the symantec diagnostic tool, which tells me that everyting is fine.. Any ideas on this one?

these are two difffernt products
sep 11 is different
sep 12 is differnt
i'm wondering how did you upgrade your clients to 12...
12 has less features than 11.
 
Just in case you are using SEP 12 SBE the following features will not be available.
      No location awareness functionality
      Replication functionality is not there
      SEP 12 supports Only single site type of deployment with Embedded Database
      No AD integration
      No GUP functionality
      SQL is not supported.
      Client communication mode cannot be changed.
      No option to add password to stop the smc service from the SPC.
      No option to add a Management server list
      No option to add Domain
      Database configuration is hidden.
      There is no option to configure a Internal live update server .
      Firewall Rules/Policy has been scaled down.

Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.0 VS. Symantec Enpoint protection 11.0
pls do not get confused SBE 12 is not an upgrade for SEP 11.In fact it is another product which is designed for Small Business Units and it is having less features compared to SEP 11.it is not possible to migrate from SEP11 to SBE 12 or vice versa.You have to uninstall it for installing other one...

Things are starting to make sense now. I don't understand yet how the v12 client on the same machine as the SEP Manager v11 gets fully updated, and the others don't...

Can you explain how I can install the v12 manager and clients with these cab-files I downloaded?

how many clients you have?
I would suggest you to go with SEP 11,as it has got lof of features, however here is the two document to install the same..
if you dont have many clients; start  a fresh install , that would be good

If you are having license for SEP 11 it is better to continue with it.
