  • 1.  SEP client 12.1.4 unable to update definition from SEPM

     As I found that there are SEP clients unable to update from SEPM, however, the definition in SEPM is up-to-date. Please kindly HELP.

    Are they connected to the SEPM (green dot on client icon?)

    You can enable sylink logging to check the communication between sepm/client

    Post the log here for review if you wish

    Also if you open the client GUI and go to Help <> Troubleshooting, does the client show connected to the sepm?

    How many system having issue ?Does any GUP available between sep and sepm ?

    is the client onlline? does the client get the updates from GUP?

    The SEP client is showing "green dot", but it seems can't communicate with SEPM server. As I tried to update policy to disable tamper protection, and it seems failed. But the Last connect time show in SEP client is updated. Do anyone know the reason? THANKS.

    As the tamper protection is locked by SEPM, and I had unlocked it in SEPM, but the SEP client unable to get policy update from it, therefore I unable to get the Sylink.log file. Please advise any other method to get the log file.
    I had also tried to move group in SEPM, and checked the SEP client group is changed. Any idea why the policy and virus definition unable to get update from SEPM? MANY THANKS.

    I have tried to restart the SEPM service in server, and now SEP clients can update definition and policy. Any idea why would cause this problem? THANKS.

    Unless you had advanced logging, it will be tough to know th root cause.
