SEP crashed on Hyper_v host

  • 1.  SEP crashed on Hyper_v host

    Hi

    I have one of the Hyper-V hosts which got a crash and restarted the server, when i looked in the dmp file i found this drive name SRTSP64.SYS. I need to check SEP logs to make sure this from Symantec AV or not and what is SRTSP64.SYS. Please i need your experiance reply not search reply.

    What version of sep and what components are installed and in use? Only av?

    What Exact SEP version are you using ?

    I suggest you can submit Memory Dump symantec support.

    first question would be the version you are on,srtsp is an autoprotect driver

    System terminates unexpectedly with error 0x00000044
    Fix ID: 3387614
    Symptom: A crash (BSOD) with Bugcheck 44 references SRTSP64.SYS.
    Solution: Modified the Auto-Protect driver to prevent an opportunistic lock (oplock) issue on Windows Vista and earlier operating systems.

    It is 12.1.4 and only Virus & Spyware Protection componenet is installed

    You need to get to 12.1.4.1 as this was fixed in this version per SMLatCST's mention in his post.

    Upgrade to that version and test again

    Brian would you please provide any link from Symantec which can show that 12.1.4.1 version can fix the issue, thanks

    Please check my comment, it got the fix id and relase notes, you can download the latest from fileconnect, need not have to upgrade your entire setup as of now, download the latest and install on this server, watch for few days,

    I upgraded Hyper-V hosts to 12.1.4.1a and i am monitoring the servers and will update you soon if that solution worked
