  • 1.  SEP deploy to a remote site

    Hi all,

Having a little trouble with using the management console to deploy to a remote site.

I can connect to the servers and user computers fine, but the speed of the line down to it is too slow.

I have heard from a few people that i can create a local repository and use the management console to tell PC's on that site to get the install files from there.

Would anyone be able to offer some advice on how i might do this, or where i can set this up from? Or is there a way of package creation so this can be installed onto the slowband machines individualy?

    Thanks

You install the Symantec Endpoint Protection Client Deployment Wizard.

    Options

    Description

    Web Link and Email

Users receive an email message that contains a link to download and install the client software. The users then install the client software, so they must have local administrator rights to their computers.

See Installing clients with Web Link and Email.

    Remote Push

Remote push installation pushes the client software to the computers that you specify. The installation begins automatically on the client computers. Remote push installation does not require the user to have local administrator rights to their computers.

See Installing clients with Remote Push.

See Preparing Windows and Mac computers for remote deployment.

    Save Package

This installation option creates an executable installation package that you save on the management server and then distribute to the client computers. The users then install the client software, so they must have local administrator rights to their computers.

See Installing clients with Save Package.

Just use the push deployment wizard:

Push Deployment Wizard - Standalone deployment app for SEP install packages

It's a standalone application which can push packages to client at their local site.

Just ened to create the package and push it out
