  • 1.  SEP: Exclude entire folders from virus scans

    Posted Mar 06, 2009 02:53 PM

I am attempting to exclude all files in a folder (and subfolders) from SEP scanning in the client.

The TrueScan Proactive Threat Scan Exception window isn't helping.  It seems I can only enter specific file names in the field - wild cards are not accepted.  I can't even enter *.abc for example.

How do I create exceptions for entire folders (or use filename wildcards) from all scans?

    This is version 11.0.4010.19

    Thanks

    Policies/Centralized Exceptions/Edit/Click "Centralized Exceptions"/Add/Security Risk Exceptions/Folder

There is no point in excluding folders for TruScan, it doesn't scan your drive, it looks at what each RUNNING PROCESS is doing - doesn't matter where it resides on your hard disk, it never scans the disk

Can scanning of specific folders (and/or wildcard filenames) be excluded from the client, or only from the console?

I'd prefer to do it from the client.

You can do it from both locations using Centralized Exceptions.
