Hi, I am trying to install SEP12 RU4MP1 on a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise and it keeps on rolling back.

Below are the lines extracted from the SEP_inst.log

MSI (s) (64:40) [12:49:27:613]: Calling SRSetRestorePoint API. dwRestorePtType: 0, dwEventType: 102, llSequenceNumber: 0, szDescription: "Installed Symantec Endpoint Protection.".
MSI (s) (64:40) [12:49:27:613]: The call to SRSetRestorePoint API failed. Returned status: 0. GetLastError() returned: 127
    MSI (s) (64:40) [12:49:27:644]: Note: 1: 1402 2: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer 3: 2

    Any solution. It is urgent.

Please post the full SEP_INST.log and SIS_INST.log files. Have you run cleanwipe? Please try it.

What logs do I need to gather in order to troubleshoot a failed SEP 12.1 client installation?

ScriptGen: ShowServiceProgress_RB() Look for timeout starting SepMasterService or other failure loading SIS.dll.
ScriptGen: ShowServiceProgress_RB() returning early due to previous error.

Are these Symantec certificates that were needed on the server? If yes, why is it that we can install SEP on other servers with no issues and we must manually update the certificates on other servers like this one?

No this certificates are windows certificates

The Windows interface for adding certificates may look slightly different depending on your version of Windows. Symantec Technical Support does not officially support this process; these instructions are provided for your convenience
