  • 1.  SEP manager and database server change IP address

    Posted Sep 19, 2014 01:30 AM

    Hi

I have 2 SEP managers with failover setup , don't config work balance yet. Both SEP manager and backend databaser server OS is windows 2008 R2. plus is the SEP manager version is 12.1.3 . Currently the SEP managers and database server use static IP address configuration.

Due to company network new design, the mangers and database server will use new static IP addresses.  For the SEP can work as well as before , do I need any manual work before / or after IP address change ?

    thanks

    Michael

I would like to add more info.,  after IP changed, the SEP manger server and database server will still use the same server name , and as remembered when installed SEP manager all relevant areas my input is the servername, not IP address. base on above info. ,after IP address changed can the SEP work well without any manual work?

    thanks

    Hi

    yes to the comment above.

Before you migrate SEPM from the present one to the old one make sure all your client have the latest policy where the server name is also part of the management server list.

After your have successfully migrated to the new server with a new static IP, your client will communicate to the new server cause it would have the same host name as the old one, once all your clients are communicating, then add the new IP in Manager server list.

    Hope this helps.
