    Hi All,

Can anyone pl clarify below point for win and linux platform.

1.Linux System Live Update will take from internet

2.Device Control Not Possible in Linux through Console

3.Linux Client Communicate with SEP Console to take “Virus and Spyware Protection policy, and other two not possible (Proactive Threat Protection and Network and Host Exploit Mitigation)

4.Only Basic features install on Linux as compare to Windows.

5.Linux Symantec scan log need to check on Console only,  now this system are new it will take some days to get the logs, this already discussed with Mustafa.

    6. Symantec 12 will get daily update without any issue, so our winXP will be protected , and existing license never expired but software update and Symantec support will not get (need clarity on Symantec 12).

    appreciate any help

Yes. Or can you can configure the SEPM as a reverse proxy to update Linux clients.

2.Device Control Not Possible in Linux through Console

SEP for Linux does not do Device Control.

3.Linux Client Communicate with SEP Console to take “Virus and Spyware Protection policy, and other two not possible (Proactive Threat Protection and Network and Host Exploit Mitigation)

    Correct.

4.Only Basic features install on Linux as compare to Windows.

    AV only

5.Linux Symantec scan log need to check on Console only,  now this system are new it will take some days to get the logs, this already discussed with Mustafa.

You can also check on the SEP for Linux client as well.

    6. Symantec 12 will get daily update without any issue, so our winXP will be protected , and existing license never expired but software update and Symantec support will not get (need clarity on Symantec 12).

Yes. SEP 12.1 supports XP and until it does not, it will continue to update content.
