  • 1.  SEP Server died - How do I reconnect clients?

    Posted Dec 29, 2009 09:09 AM
My SEP 11.0.5 server died, and had to be reloaded from scratch.  In order to reconnect clients, I tried pushing the client install, which said successful, but the computers never showed up in the console.  When I looked in Help & Support/Troubleshooting, it said the server was "offline".  Is there any way to reconnect about 200 computers to this server without visiting each one to uninstall the client manually?  Thanks for any help!

     Hi

You can use Sylink Replacer tool to replace the sylink file on the clients and reconnect them to the new SEPM

You should get the tool at the following link

Please use the below link to create the Sylink.XML file, that is required for communicating with the server, and then use the tool mentioned by Warrior6945.

    hi,

dont't you have the backup certs and DB of the earlier SEPM, if yes, follow the link to bring back the clients online, else replacing sylink.xml on the client is the only option.

Here's another way if you don't want to use sylink replacer.

Title: 'How to restore/retain client-server communication using custom installation settings without having to use the sylink drop tool.'
