I am having trouble trying to find documentation on how to update the machines on my network to the latest client version.   I have a 100 or so machines and would like to push down the latest version through my network.   Can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks.

you dont need to push them you can use the autoupgrade feature.

    Upgrading clients by using AutoUpgrade

Migrating to Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 RU5

    Hello,

Thank you very much for the info!  I will post my experience in doing this upgrade once finished.

I was wondering if you had info on upgrading the server application as well?  I believe this is out of date too.  Thank you.

EDIT:  Unless that is what the second link you provided is for?  Is the Symantec End Point Manager upgrade  a seperate entity from SEP that runs on the main server?

SEP Manager is a totally diffrent than the SEP client you will install on the server.

the second link is for upgrading the manager (sort of console) where you manage clients
you first upgrade the manager, and then use the autoupgrade to upgrade clients
if you have installed clinets without the manager then you need to run the MU5 setup on each box individually.

Ok,  so I am bit confused.  Can I use the second link to also update Symantec on the server?   I want to make sure the server is updated first,  then the clients.

Yes, You first updated the Symantec endpoint protection Manager to the latest version,
then you can use the upgrade groups with package feature.

Hi again guys. I am currently Auto-Upgrading clients in small batches here. I have a couple clients that are not taking the upgrade and I can't seem to figure out why. Is there a log I can check that can shed some light on this? Thanks! -Chris

     on the client
    go to start - run - %temp%\SEP_INST.log
and look for return value 3
the error/reason will be few lines above it.
