SEP V12.1.2015 client without NTP/PTP kills network

    Hi

I have setup a SEP 12.1.2015 client package for a SEPM upgrade group.

I have removed NTP and PTP for this package.

The old machine is running SEP client 11.0.7000.

I then add this machine to the SEPM upgrade group. The client gets upgraded fine. (without the NTP/PTP).

I have rebooted few times... still good.

Few hours later i reboot again, and whammo.... the network is dead. The LAN or Wifi... both are no good. Ipconfig gives me nothing. No IP.

I have done this on couple of machines so far. Dell Latitude E6400 and E6440.

    E6400 running Intel 82567LM. E6440 on Intel I217-LM.

Havent tried this on Broadcom chip yet... got to look for a model with one of these.

Is this a known issue? If so, is there a better version to upgrade to that is more stable?

Also, how to fix the broken network?

    Thanks, DM.
