• 1. SEP Windows 10 push

    Posted Jan 12, 2016 01:57 PM

I'm currently testing windows 10 pro 64-bit in our enviroment and I cannot seem to get a push to work. Everytime I try to push from Symantec Management Console I this error message:

Failure message: program has failed with return code = 1063
    Package download status:

Package already downloaded, but failed to launch the program successfully

Has any one sucessfully managed to push this through Altiris? I have tested the same push to a Windows 7 pro 64-bit device and it installs no problem.

The push looks to have been successful. Can you check the %temp% directory for a SEP_INST.log or SIS_INST.log file and post it here for review?

I could not find SEP_INST.log or SIS_INST.log and there are no traces of Symantec Endpoint Protection in Program files or Program Files x86.

What version of SEP are you trying to push to the Win10 client?

The first supported version of SEP 12.1 on Windows 10 is 12.1.6 MP1:

Endpoint Protection support for Windows 10

If you're on at least this version I would suggest running the symhelp tool on the affected client to do further troubleshooting:

I'm trying to push Symantec Endpoint Protection version 12.1.6608.6300. We've already had contact with the SEP team and it does work in windows 10(I'm currently using it on Windows 10 pro x64 laptop). When you run the setup.exe from a deployment folder it will install correctly. I'm only seeing this error when trying to push form Symantec Management Console.

If i'm not on the right support fourm can you direct me to the right one?

I will move this post thread to the Client Management Suite forum.

If it turns out to be SEP related, I can move it back to its original place.
