i have more than 2500 clients and some clients are having windows xp and windows 2003
i have 12.1 two servers one is active and second is replica and i have SQL on both servers and replication time is 1 AM over the night daily 
now i want to upgrade version 14 but i want to keep version 12.1 servers to get update for windows xp and 2003 server. i have more than 50 remote sites and each site i have one GUP and the link speed is only 1 Mbps if i upgrae from 12.1 to version 14,  than version 14 SEPM doesn't support  12.1 definition and clients with 12.1 will not update the latest definition and on remote site i can not upgrade my all clients on a single day because i dont have any SCCM or desktop manager so i have to use autoupgrade through SEPM server
i am looking a solution that i will keep old servers and add new servers as well version 12.1 will communication with old sepm and version 14 will communication with sepm 14 

i will upgrade version 14 but its time taking once i will upgrade all client i will remove sepm 12.1 

can you please suggest me what to do and how to do ?

SEPM 14 does support 12.1 clients. I don't see why you can't upgrade the SEPM to 14 and still have the 12.1 clients check in.

Sure. I've been running a 14 SEPM with 12.1 clients for months now.

Regardless. SEPM 14 can manage SEP 12.1 clients. Pick an affected machine and enable sylink debugging and run SymDiag to start. Need to see some logs on this.

I know that we can manage clients with SEPM14 to SEP 12.1 but i need defination and i have checked the logs of liveupdate,  SEPM14 only downloading version 14 definition  it has no ability to download any prevision version definition. The problem which i am facing that i to keep 12.1 and 14 both up to date this solution i am looking

SEPM 14 managing 12.1 clients means they can download content so I guess I'm lost on your comments. All of my 12.1 clients (thousands) are reporting to a 14 SEPM and getting content from it. Otherwise, I'd have some major issues on my hands. No need for me to run dual environments.

as Brian mentioned, please check the SEPM Live Update settings and be sure, that you are downloading the legacy content for SEP 12.1.

From my perspective, if you have setup the SEPM 14.x fresh, this setting is per default disabled and the the client server communication is set to https.

you are right when i did fresh installation by default setting was off but when i migrate 12.1 to 14 it was enable
