    Hey guys,

I'e been looking around for the grace period, But I'm getting 2 answer, 60 days and 90 days(for EE). So what exactly is the right one? is there a KB about this?

    Thank you,

    Daryl

    hi,

    this answers your question:

    • New Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager installations come with a trial license; you have 60 days to purchase and activate a license that covers all of your deployed clients.
    • When you migrate from an older version of Symantec Endpoint Protection (versions 11.x or 12.0), you start with an upgrade license that expires in 90 day

    Hi,

Our SPEPM already has a license but after 1 year it now expires, our problem is that our purchasing process will take 2 mos and another month to recieve the license from the local reseller. Considering that we're not coming from an upgrade at all, are we covered under the 90 day grace period?

I dont thing we fit in the 2 scenario above.

    Thank you,

in that case if you are using EE of SEPM, you will continue to receive definitions updates this is done in a goodwill gesture that customer will eventually renew their licenses. You will be prompted with soft enforcement and as far as protection goes your environment is fully protected.

As long as you have the Enterprise version, it will not expire and you will contiune receiving the definitions updates to protect your network.

But it's recommended to renew as soon as you can to keep this licensed & valid and to receive support from Symantec in case you need them.

However if it's a new install then it's 60 days, Small Business, 30 days and upgrade from previous version - 90 days.

This is based on https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH230601.html under "Managing Endpoint Protection licenses" (almost bottom of the article)

    Hope this answers your question.
