SEPM - Application exception do not work

  • 1.  SEPM - Application exception do not work

    Hello,

    I would ask you for help with application exceptions. I know how it should work but it don't. For application exclusion i go into Policies->Exceptions ->MyExceptionPolicy . In edition windows I go into Exceptions and ADD->Windows Exceptions->Application. Now, new window should show with possible application  to add, but in my management console this window never show. I have some apps added to Application to Monitor, but application exception window never show.  Please give me some advices, why it do not show.

    Exact version of your SEPM?

    This may take some time to come up depending on how many apps are there. Did you wait? How long has it been?

    What happens if you select the "Application to Monitor" option, does that window come up?

    Are you local or coming thru remote console?

    Hello,

    SEP version is 12.1 . I always wait few minutes, about 3-5 min.

    When I select Application to Monitor option, everything work properly. I can add App.

    I use local console only. never try by webconsole.

    I can't say yes, because I start administrating this tool right now. Before did it another administrator.  So you mean that in version 12.1 even if there is option ADD->Windows Exceptions->Application it do not work properly in all SEP 12.1 instances?

    What I'm saying is I've never seen an issue with this particular setting.

    The only time I've seen it slow to open is when there are a lot of applications in this space, some times it may take a minute to open.

    Hello again,

    I've checked that action by webconsole and the same behaviour. Window do not open.

    Do you know the exact version of 12.1 that you're running? I can check to see if there were any known issues there.

    SEPM show Version: 12.1.1000.157

    Known issue in this version, here it was:

    Unable to create an application exception in SEPM
    Fix ID: 2560976
    Symptom: Unable to create an application exception in SEPM and the application exception window does not appear. The scm-server.log file may display the following exception:
    SEVERE: Invalid query statement in:
    com.sygate.scm.server.consolemanager.requesthandler.GetObjectHandler
    java.sql.SQLException: Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the subquery is used as an expression.
    Solution: A SQL query was modified to allow the window to open properly.

     

    You need to upgrade, preferably to 12.1.5
