SEPM Console Script Errors

  • 1.  SEPM Console Script Errors

Running Windows 7 Professional (version 6.1.7600)
    SEP 11 RU5

When I try to access reports, I get a JavaScript error:

Error: 'null' is null or not an object
    URL: http://sep01/Reporting/Resources/secondary.js

Any chance there's a fix for this?

whats the version of java installed?
    unistall the java you have.
    access the remote console
    http://sepo1:9090/reporting
it will install the correct version of java
try to access the reports will be fine
if not when you save the SEPM console..try using Run as and then try to open it.

Does Java have anything to do with JavaScript? The Java client is the latest version.

Wait, I flashed back there for a bit. Javascript hasn't been handled by the browser for a long time. Oops!

Just got back from lunch, will look at this shortly. Had to work on a couple of things that came up while I was out.

I am on Java 6 Update 17. XP machine with no issues is update 16.

I think it supports no higher than 6.15 or 6.14.

I uninstalled the Java client, ran the SEPM Console install, and it installed version 6 Update 14. The same script error still appears.

ConQuer0r, the console works on my XP machine with update 16 since I've upgraded to RU5. Did not work on MR4MP2.

If you uninstall the SEPM off of your system and reinstall by accessing http://sepo01:9090 you should be able to  recreate the contents of the Web Applet. Please let me know if this resolved your issue. Always happy to help.

I've tried uninstalling the SEPM and also uninstalling Java from my machine, then tried a restart, browsed to http://**.**.**.**.**:9090 and reinstalled the Manager but to no avail.

I then tried running the SEPM as Administrator by right clicking -> properties-> compatibility-> then under privellage level tick "Run this program as Administrator". I am using Windows 7 Professional so do get the UAC pop everytime. But at least it works I guess :D

    Thank you very much.
