  • 1.  SEPM DB question regarding [OU_GUID]

    Posted Jul 22, 2010 05:43 PM
Do we have anyone familar with the RU6/a SEPM DB schema that can tell me how the OU_GUID for a machine in a given AD-Synced OU is calculated?

I would have guessed that the [OU_GUID] was unique per each AD OU, but that's not the case. The [GROUP_ID] seems to handle that job.

I know this is an unusual question, but there really is a valid reason for me to know.

    Thanks,

    -Mike

My understanding is that [OU_GUID] is unique per each AD OU. Please find the databsae schema enclosed for RU6.

Let me know if that helps.

I had looked at an earlier versior of this document and found what you have suggested. The schema reference states the following:

OU_GUID = The GUID of the Organizational Unit if the client is from the Active Directory.

If there was only one OU_GUID per AD OU this description would make sense, but because each machine in any given OU has a different OU_GUID...my assumption is that a machines OU_GUID is a calculation of something like the CLIENT_ID and the GROUP_ID. What I'm looking for with my question is an answer to just how the OU_GUID is calculated.

    Thanks again,
