on sepm consolle I have the following when I start manully Live update (sorry is in Italian i try a traduction in english...)

I' dont have any error in event log, can sombody help me?

I have tried to reinstall live update on sepm , to run lucatolog -update, but the only thing that work is
to update definitions for Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager using the .jdb file but I have to do it every day manually isn't very comfortable :-D
now when I run live update I got the following:

I had this problem in one Server..

I Uninstalled Live update...  Deleted all folder related to Liveupdate....
Then it stared working(I did SEPM repair also)....

I already uninstalled then reinstalled live update as descripted in http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2007100907303548
but doesn't work!

go to control pannel
select liveudpate
on the general tab
select interactive
click ok
go to start --run
type luall.exe

now when it says initializing what are the componets you can see.

click next and try selecting only one download and see if that succeds

Done, now I have the following error:

LU1825: LiveUpdate non ha compreso come installare questo aggiornamento. Per poterlo installare potrebbe essere necessario ottenere la versione più recente di LiveUpdate

"LiveUpdate don't know how to install this update. You should need a more updated version of liveupdate"

Version of luall.exe is 3.3.0.78.

I try both selecting all or only  the 32bit version. The result it's the same.

LU1825, LU1812 and LU1801 error messages when running LiveUpdate (LU) on an unmanaged Symantec Endpoint Protection client.

As I already explained the only way to update sepm is using the jbd file and it work just isn't very comfortable....
If I have to everyday manually download the update ok I am already doing this job. I just have to throw the liveupdate in recycle bin.
This don't seem to be a great solution.
I can unistall the client and re-unistall liveupdate but if i I do the following as you indicate...

   2. Delete the following folders:
          * C:\Program Files\Symantec
          * C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared
          * C:\Users\All Users\Applications\Symantec (Windows Vista Home Premium; other Win OS's would be C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec)
   3. Restart the computer.
   4. Re-install LU and Symantec Endpoint Protection.

I think that semp don't will work really good or I am wrong?

This could be caused by file corruption or the presence of a Norton Security product (registry keys, etc).

Uninstalling SEP cleint will have no impact on SEPM

......

Of course uninstalling SEP don't have any impact on SEPM, but deleting

          * C:\Program Files\Symantec
          * C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared
          * C:\Users\All Users\Applications\Symantec
As you indicate .... yes have an impact on sepm Im sure that have because is installed in: c:\program Files\symantec... e sometimes if you delete a program it don't work really good.....

Right I have uninstalled sep re-unistalled live update, reinstalled all , re-run lucatalog.exe -update, but I don't have any change,, I have the same error.
Some Ideas??

remove live update now

following the above steps

install liveupate 3.4

from

ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/liveupdate/3.4/

re-registare liveupdate now ( following the doc)

go to control pannel
select liveudpate
on the general tab

all done but just I have è change of GUI and language of live update... but the error seem to be the same,

"LU1825: LiveUpdate could not understand how to install this update.  You may need to get the latest version of LiveUpdate before you can install this update.  Click here for more information on this error"
