  • 1.  SEPM live update not running automatically.

    LiveUpdate on my SEPM has stopped running automatically as per the schedule. When I tried to run manuually getting error "LU1825: LiveUpdate could not understand how to install this update. You may need to get the latest version of LiveUpdate before you can install this update"

    We followed below article but issue not resolve

    it means your live update client is not able to understand which update to install first the client's or the SEPM's. so uninstall the SEP client and then follow the below article, once the live update is successful you can reinstall SEP on the server.

     

    LU1825: LiveUpdate could not understand how to install this update. You may need to get the latest version of LiveUpdate before you can install this update

    Have you tried uninstalling sep client as well as live update component from the management server and then reinstalling them

    Thank you for your reply.

    Issue has been resloved after followed below steps:

    1. Uninstall SEP and LiveUpdate normally through the Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (or Programs and Features). If this fails then use the latest version of Cleanwipe to remove SEP and Liveupdate.
    2. If it has been determined that a Norton Security product was installed on the system, please uninstall that product normally through the Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (orPrograms and Features). If this fails, then use the latest version of the Norton Removal Tool.

    NOTE: The Norton Removal Tool will not uninstall SEP, SEPM and related components.
    NOTE: Cleanwipe will not uninstall any Norton security product.

    3. Reboot the computer.
    4. Reinstall SEP and LiveUpdate.
