Dears,

This is the Live production environment in my office for the manager that handles 7000+ machines. We had to change the Database -SQL password for security reasons.

After password change the SEPM configuration Wizard was run on Node 1. Intinitally it gave failed error: " lack of space" ( we had 53 GB space) and then went upto 84% and remained there for 12 hours and got completed.

After Node 1 was completed, the services on this server was automatically started. I opened a ticket with Symantec support and they confirmed it okay to continue running the Wizard on the 2nd node , even when the services is running on the 1st node.

Since yesterrday morning I have started the Wizard on Node 2 and it has been stuck at 84%. now it has been more than 24 hours

Please help! Support says wait and wait...

I have got the same problem when going for upgradation, when asked for the time frame, the tech. told me to wait until it throws an error. (it completed successfully after 7 hours)

It also depends upon the network speed as you are using SQL database ,he said.

But definetely in your case,  24 hours is long time, it should be either completed or should have poped up with an error. 

Support will be better to comment on this.

It took me 30 hours to comeplete this task. thats too long and reasons unknown.

However this thread need solution, it will help others finding the solution for the same issue.

The solution "just wait" is not a real solution. What we want is an answer to why it takes this long. I had the same thing happen and it took 26 hours. For this, I want to know exactly why!

What is the hardware spec of the SQL server and how big is the database in size?
