SEPM not shows Win10 SEP clients

  • 1.  SEPM not shows Win10 SEP clients

    Hi,
    we have a Windows Server 2008 R2 with Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1.7369.6900 MP9. The SEPM
    is istalled on our server, not in the cloud. This server also has the Symantec Endpoint Protection
    client, version 12.1.7369.6900 and 12.1.6318.6100

    We have 173 workstations. The workstations are Windows 7.
    They all have the Symantec Endpoint Protection client, version 12.1.6318.6100.

    We add two workstations with new Windows 10 Pro machines version 1709.
    After installing the client version 12.1.7369.6900, it does not appear in the list in the SEPM.

    SEP installs just fine, and is able to communicate with SEPM and successfully update it's content no problem.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    But in the tab Detail in the list it is indicated that there are two clients.

     

    We have only one domain in SEPM. SEP was installed as part of a package deployment from SEPM.

    There are ideas why clients are not displayed? Thanks in advance!

    Check the Filter button - it might have changed.

    Switch from 'Default View' to something different.

    I tried switching the view. Clients are not displayed.

     

    I installed SEP 12.1.7369.6900 on Windows 10 build 1703 and the client displayed in SEPM.

    Perhaps it was a bug then with that specific client version.

    Just been working through the same problem with support (case 14012739)

    i was able to get the machine to display by turning on the Filter options for the Platform Type.

    As you can see once you do that the machine shows (the top one) and the OS is not right.

    A quick check of the machine shows it's running Win 10 Pro for Workstations not Win 10 Pro

    I think Symantec need to update their console to work with the new OS SKUs from MS

    Yes. Windows 10 Pro v. 1709

    Hi Nathan,

     

    Can you provide a Symdiag from the SEPM and this client having issues showing up correctly?

    Steps: 

    • Download Symdiag from here: http://entced.symantec.com/symhelp/2/dl
    • Accept EULA
    • Click Collect Data for Support
    • Select Symantec products you are running on this system
    • Select All data
    • Once collection is complete. Save the file for support.

    John, thanks for your interest.  I'm not sure any of that's relevant.  Probabably best for Symantec to setup a test environment and add a Windows 10 Pro for Workstation build 1709 client and see what happens

     

    I won't have access to the client machine for about 5 days as the user is travelling now.

    Rusak are they Pro or Pro for Workstations.  You can see in my screen shot that Pro for Workstaiton is a real thing.  it's not the same as Pro.

    I have set up a test environment. Not able to reproduce what your seeing. If you would like assistance that is the data we will need.

    From what I understand it's a case of we should upgrade to v14 and hopefully it will work in there....  Didn't seem to be any interest in fixing the problem.
