    Hi All,

One of my customer is looking to migrate to the cloud, today they are running on premise SEPM 14.0, is it possible?

If yes, what are the requirements from the licensing and logistices perspectice?

Is there a license upgrade required, if yes what are the SKU's?

What is the migration process from the database, policies, rules etc?

    Appreciate the help. Thanks.

    With Regards,

    Hello,

There are two types of cloud solutions, one is SEP SBE (Small Business Edition) Cloud and the other is Symantec Endpoint Protetion Cloud. I think that there are no tools for migration to the cloud for any of those solutions, so you will have to migrate settings manualy (database, policies, etc.).

I think that cloud client installation is smart to remove SEP 14.x and install new cloud clients.

You will need new licenses. Only in case you have SEP SBE 2013 you can use same licenses for SEP SBE Cloud. For some kind of cross upgrade from SEP to cloud, it is best to contact your partner or sales and ask for quote.

    Regards,

There is no migration path from SEP 14.x to Endpoint Protection Cloud. You would have to remove all of your on-premise agents and install a cloud agent on them.

As far as licensing goes, server licenses are separate from User or Device licenses.

A good breakdown of the features and pricing for the different license types is here: https://www.symantec.com/smb/endpoint-protection-cloud?inid=symc_endpoint-protection-cloud_pdp_to_buy_store_bf-2_cart-2
