Got any release notes????

In fileconnect.symantec.com i cant find RU6 MP3 any more (PFA).

I found it on my serial number too.

Yet to get a confirmation on the release notes

It got Released on 14-Jul-2011.

Please Note: Migration of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 11 RU7 to 12.1 will not be supported until 12.1 RU1 (Client upgrades are OK).

So, Incase, if you have Migrated to 11.0.7000, and then you have decided to Migrate to SEP 12.1, then you would have to what for some days, till next release of SEP 12.1.

Yes RU7 is released.

You can't upgrade RU7 SEPM to 12.1 at this point (Reason behind is in RU7 there are schema changes).  For that upgrade path you would need to wait for SEP12.1 RU1.

You could however manage RU7 clients with a SEP12.1 SEPM and upgrade them to 12.1.

Just looked at both BCS and fileconnect and do not see the download being available.  Is there a private release before the full public release of the product?

I downloaded RU7 from fileconnect 1 hour ago, can you check again there? But it was not availabe in BCS site.

@Symantec tech support - what are the migration paths to RU7 (from MR4 MP2 -> RU7, RU5 -> RU7, RU6 MP3 -> RU7)?

Does it depend on the serial number I use to log in to fileconnect?  I still only see RU6 MP3 as the latest.  Unable to filter to the version as well.

You can do upgrade from MR4 TO --> RU7, there should not be any problem.

Kindly go to  https://fileconnect.symantec.com using your Symantec Endpoint Protection serial number to download 11.0.7.

RU7 is now there using the same license that did not display it yesterday.  Must have been delayed, but RU7 is being downloaded at this moment.

no, you need to wait for 12.1 RU1 to upgrade from 11 RU7.  Pre-RU7 can upgrade to 12.1

Even i have downloaded RU7, but the documentation says it is for RU6

Ru7 Looks like  "one-stop fix shop" for all its predecessors.

@Symantec support. 11.0.6005.562 is RU6 MP2 correct? Do I need to go to MP3 before 11.0.7?

Any  SEP 11.0.6  Version can be directly migrated to 11.0.7 but not to  12.0 or 12.1

You can directly go to RU7 from RU6 MP2. MP3 is only maintenance patch no need to upgrade to MP3.

You can not upgrade from RU7 to SEP 12.1 but you can upgrade from RU6 MP2 to SEP 12.1

With this RU7 release, it is important to keep in mind that migrations from Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) 11 RU7 cannot be upgraded to SEPM 12.1. It is also not possible to manage Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) SEP 12.1 clients with an RU7 SEPM.

Once you have migrated to SEPM 11 RU7, you will need to wait until the next release of SEP 12.1 (most likely SEP 12.1 RU1) before you have a supported migration path.

 The minimum system requirements  for Ru7  is almost the same as RU6MP3 version but the added feature of this release is the  Certified support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 1 .

we have the environment for SEPM server as below :-

1. Windows 2003 Standard 32bit

2. 1GB RAM installed.

3. SEPM 11 MR4.

we wish to know the min rquirement for hard disk space  in order to upgrade to RU7.

please guide.

SEP 11.0.5  already supported "Windows 7."  It was previously announced that RU7 was expected to add support for Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
