SEPM Versions chaos

    Hello

Try to find out what version is what on Symantec Website:

We have the folowing client packages:

    12.1.4013.4013 (old)

    12.1.4100.4126

    12.1.4112.4156

in "Get the latest Service pack and patches"

The latest client upgrade on support site is 12.1.4.1

What is that for a release above?

    Then you use RU4 MP1 ...

please use one definition for one release, not 4 different ways with 4 different numbers to define one release

Also with the manager it is very hard to find out what release is installed, and what it references in website documentation

Such version chaos is not usable!

    Please explain why?

I agree that having more than one naming convention is confusing, and finding out just how big a change (for example) 12.1 RU4 MP1b is isn't obvious.

To find which release in installed, in SEPM, Admin, Servers, select a server and you should be shown the version.

Remo266, check out the Symantec Help Tool (click on help button within SEP).

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH170752

It will show you which version you got and which one is the newest. Including links to security articles. Pretty handy.

    Regards

    Hi,

If Home page is showing the latest definitions without any warning message you will be in good shape.

When you go to the 'Admin tab' to see more detail info then it's somehow confusing. You can leave that part to Support for troubleshooting.

Here you will find info about definitions release: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions.jsp?pid=sep1213
