Does ghost not run on Server 2016 servers?  I have a member server (2016) with the console installed fine.  I have succcessfully installed the PXE components on a seperate server (2016) that is running DHCP.  The Altiris PXE Config Helper starts, but the MTFTP Server and PXE Server fail to start with a PXEService.exe application fault error.  I obviously cant start the pxe config tool b/c the pxe servers have not checked into the gss console.

    Are there any specified errors?

    Thanks!

When trying to start the service i get a "Windows could not start the services on the local computer error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedlly.

App Logs show event id 1000 Faulting Application name PXEService.exe version 6.9.109103.51

Only log i see is for the PXE.log file but that was just for the install.

When uninstalling PXE on the Server i get a lovley bang that says:

"This PXE Server has corrupted Files. When trying to notify the PXE Manager that this PXE server was being removd no PXE.ini file was found or no PXE Server GUID was found in teh PXE.ini file.  This has prevented the PXE Manager from updating the managed PXE Server list.  "

    Anyone seen this?

....Re-installed without error, reboot the server and PXE services still fail.

Have you tried to completely uninstall the application and then install from scratch? Also, any AV perhaps blocking those services from starting up correctly?

    Hey Craig,

I just removed everythign and redownloaded the entire installer....seems to be happier now...appreciate the responses.  No AV blocks going on...not sure what it was unless the package really was corrupted.

It can sometimes happen that an ISO is corrupted, or an AV interferes with an installation and/or upgrade.

    Glad it worked out!
