  • 1.  ServiceDesk 7.1 SP2 upgrade to 7.5

    Moi,

    we have the following configuration:

    srv01 - management platform server 7.1 SP2 (ver. 7.1.8280), srv02 - servicedesk server 7.1 SP2 (ver. 7.1.2) and the DB lies on a SQL server.

now my question: is an "classical"  update possible ?  after a quick reading of the manuals it doesn´t look like this !

    thank´s for a statement

There's no "in-place" upgrade of SD available until 7.5 (meaning you can't upgrade from 7.1* to 7.5, but you'll be able to upgrade from 7.5 to 7.5+)

What about the tickets from 7.1 can they be migrated to 7.5? If so what information is migrated?

Yes, a migration script exists (link is in implementation guide). It's pretty good. It gets your basic incident information, contacts, permissions. If you want/need additional stuff it shouldn't be too hard to have it migrate additional data as well. If I recall, I wanted something to snag the 'request channel' as well and it was easy enough to do if you know your SQL and db schema. It will only migrate closed (100%) incidents, so if you consider all the migrated stuff to be historical anyway, you'll likely be happy with the results.
