Hi I need help in setting up a new site server on a sub domain for anew site that has a slow WAN link. We just need to be able to push out updates to all clients on the site.

I have configured the site subnets and under site server settings I have added a new site and added the server and pushed out Task services so far. I am trying to install monitor services but so far it has been over 48 hours and it still says pending. Am I missing something or anything else I need to to set up the site?

You will need to make this a package server as well.  Best practice is to make it a Task Server first than go back and make it a Package server. Ensure packages are replicating to the new site server.  The Monitor package will need to replicate to the new site server as a package first before it can install the package.

    Hi Magic Hammer.

If the package is taking too much time to be replicated and installed, why not copy the installer to the server and install that manually?

When I install my site servers, I install the services in the order bellow:

    -Install Agents

    -Install Plug-ins

    -Install Task Service

    -Install Package Service

    -Install Deployment Site Service

    -Install Monitor Service.

Also I suggest you to create a Targeted Agent Settings to this Site Server and set the throttling because this site has a slow WAN link. In my environment I have a custom policy for each site server because the WAN links in each site.

    Regards,

Have you run the "Resource Membership Update" for a complete update schedule?

Run this update, then check again if site server and package server is installed. It takes a little while, but this should make the task run a bit faster.
