SEVERE: Unexpected server error on Symantec Endpoint Protection 11

    Hi all,

    I encounter error message while in the midst of logging into my SEPM client console.

    The error message “unexpected error occurred” 

    I retrieved the SCM-server log and i spotted the below error message

    2013-10-17 15:41:26.632 SEVERE: Unknown Exception
    org.apache.commons.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot get a connection, pool error Timeout waiting for idle object
     
    Inaddition, i tried restarting the services manaully, it worked for a day or so then the same problem persist.

    "Unexpected server error" occurs before logging into Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager(SEPM) console

    Hi Rafeeq, i have tired increasing the java heap size some time ago, but was not very helpful

    Hello,

    Which version of SEPM are you running? Make sure you are running the SEPM 12.1 RU2 and above. This issue was fixed in 12.1 RU2.

    Check this Article:

    Correct. I would suggest you to please migrate the SEP 11.x to SEP 12.1 RU3

    Upgrading the SEP 11.x to SEP 12.1 RU3 is free and easy.

    you can upgrade your version with SEPM 12.1.3 as this issue is fixed in 12.1.2.

    Just try to repair SEPM for add/remove program.

    If repair not help you can contact symantec support for this issue related.

    Restart the database Service and analysis for 2-3 days.

    Hi james, I would try to repair my SEPM.

     

    Hi AJ, i have already manaully restart the services prior to seeking help here. 
    The issues resume back to square one in a mere 24 hours time frame
