So, what your 'Sharepoint plugin' means?
If you want to protect the Sharepoint site from the virus and security risk, just install the SEP client on the Sharepoint server.

Hi Chris,
I am not familiar with the plug-in that you are referring to... can you provide a little more info on what it is and does-?
Symantec has a product for defending SharePoint, but it is not SEP. It is called Symantec Protection 5.1 for SharePoint Servers, and more info can be found at
http://www.symantec.com/business/protection-for-sharepoint-servers
