  • 1.  SIM 7.6 failed windows 2012 Standard

    Hi

    i install SIM 7.6 in Windows server 2012 Standard but when is downloading client management suite(7.5 sp1 and 7.6) fail and sample next error

    Symantec Installation manager has encountered a fatal exception and cannot continue:please see the log file for more information

    when i was trying uninstall  shows  the same error

    someone can tell me what versions of windows 2012 are compatible with SIM 7.6 and if i can install client management suite 7.5 sp1 with this in windows 2012.

     

    Note:the server is virtual

    If it failed around 50%, you are dealing with a service account issue, I guess. See if your domain account has Admin access locally.

    Take a look at Log Viewer for any further logging. This will help you. If you are not able to uninstall, I'd recommend you to start fresh, once again.

    1. Check SIM logs to see where it fails:

    • C:\Users\<%Your Account Name%>\AppData\Local\Temp\SIM Logs\

    2. Also take a look on NT Event Application and System logs.

    3. Windows 2012 R2 Standard is supported OS for 7.6 release

    i find this in the path C:\Users\<%Your Account Name%>\AppData\Local\Temp\SIM Logs\ two archive CrashDump and a.log.

    According to log, it says that there is a problem with trust relationship:

    The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed.

    Try to re-join your server back to existing domain to return back trust relationship.
