I started noticing an issue with smc.exe taking up 50% of processing on a dual core machine.  Also, I noticed that the green dot indicating the client is communicating with the server goes away.  I did some research and found that if the gateway is on a different subnet than your IP address you may have this issue.  I moved the machine back so it would have the same subnet as the gateway and the problem went away.  My question is this: is there a correct way to set this up?  In other words, we have a couple of switches that point to a dhcp server that hands out 10.x.x.x IP addresses and another switch that hands out IP's that are 162.x.x.x.  Both have the same gateway address.  So, is there a proper way to set up the SEP manager to account for this?  The clients that are on 10.x.x.x can communicate fine with anything else on 162.x.x.x, just not the SEP server.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think I may have gotten it to go away.  I upgraded the server and clients to RU5.  Seems to have gone away so far.  I am keeping my fingers crossed!
