Hello Everybody.

I'm trying to figure out how to setup a lab with Vmware in order to learn how SMM 7.1 works.

I need help and some best practise to draw the design of the architecture.

At the moment I have no virtual machine cause i would create the complete environment.

I know that i will need:

A domain controller
SMP 7.1
MS Exchange
Certificate server
SQL Server
DMZ

Is there somebody that would help and guide me to achieve this goal ?

DC-SQL-DNS

Exchange

Certificates can be installed on any server in test, even the DC/SQL box would be fine, or local to the SMP -- it doesn't quite matter.  You should be able to run all of these with local networking plus internet access and it will work fine.

You could also contact Symantec for a demo or POC.

Do you know what is the best architecture to implement if I want to use MS exchange with ActiveSync and Appel Push Notification server ?

What i have understand from the SMM 7.1 admin guide is:

DMZ:
1 mobile management site server
1 SCEP
-> I'm not sure if a revers proxy is needed in this case ?

Corporate domain:
1 Exchange server with ActiveSync component
1 SQL server
1 SMP server
1 AD
1 CA
1 SMM server -> Can it be installed on the exchange server ?

I need to setup a demo environment to provide demonstration of Altiris SMP with SMM 7.1 management to our customer.

Everything will be in a Vmware environment.

I'm trying to figure out what is the best architecture design to match an environment of a PME (Medium company) with 200, 300 computers and mobile devices
