  • 1.  SMP 7.1 offline instillation issues:

    I am installing SMP on a win 2008 VM on a closed network. The server is not allowed to ever touch the internet. I created an instillation package on a server that had internet access. When I run the instillation manager and try to install I get several similar errors to following error:

    "The following files have failed to validate http://solutionsam.com/solutions/7_1/itms/7_1_sp1_rtm/altiris_softwarecatalogdata_7_1_x64.msi?symct=1322535703_15498698bec9a40657ab0b123c522591"

    which I believe means it's trying to download a needed component. The issue is I already downloaded it and added it to the component file. I went into settings in the Symantec Instillation Manager and tried updating the product lists but I still get the same error. I believe I even pointed it to the component folder.

    Hi,

    Please check the following things.

    1. After extracting Install package and before launching SIM it has required MSI present in SymantecInstallManager\Install\Altiris.
    2. If files are there and still you are getting “file mismatch” error then check the MSI version that gets added in package.
    3. Also you can create a support package from setting page to view logs.
