  • 1.  SMP with SSL

    Hello evebory!!!

In my environment I have set the SMP with the generated certificate from my server RootCA procedure. I have some workstations that are outside the domain the certificate and installed them manually, but I can not install the altiris agent. Analyzing the installation logs, always gives me the error 10061. I've read several KBs and in them the solution is to install the certificate on the workstation, but this procedure has been done and yet the problem persists.

Someone help me already because I'm desperate!

Is the certificate present on the problem system in the Trusted Root Certificates store?  Is today's date within the validity period for the certificate?  Does the server name on the certificate match the server's server name (e.g. if it says smp.company.local, you cannot have the agents using smp.company.org)?  Is your config properly using 443 for agent communication?  Have you tried push installations and pull installations, or just one or the other?

Yes, the certificate has the correct server name and the date is valid, is stored in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities, when I access the site by name, he tells me that the certificate is installed. I've tried several ways to install the agent, but without success. I do not know what else to do, I'm open call at Symantec, but they are very slow to resolve

You need to do it into the machine store, not the logged in user's store. I think you can do it with Certmgr.exe or the MMC snap-in but not IE Options.

That's how I'm doing, I open mmc, add the Certificates snap-in and Trusted Root Certification Authorities, import the certificate I have. As I said, I've read several KBs that explain how it works, as they have to be added to the certificate, but does not work. Symantec's support was more than an hour connected and failed to resolve.
