  • 1.  Software Delivery Filters for Software Installed

    Posted Oct 27, 2016 08:06 AM

I'm lloking at uninstalling software from any machines that have it installed. What I'm looking to do is when I do a managed software delivery and using the uninstall command I use a filter usually to detect all windows 7 machines but I understand you can one step further and target the computers with the software installed, is this correct?

If so how do I get this set up? I tried looking through the filters but there are so many. Not a massive issue as I can target all windows 7 machines and the sooftware package has a detection rule configured for when we rolled out the software in the first place but the software is no longer equired and cosuming licenses.

I think I found a way by using multiple rules. I can see I have at some point set a rule for install "exclude computers not in> Filter> Windows 7 and then add rule > excludes computers in> Filter >Computers with *Software Installed* installed.

Looking I don't see many other software we have listed that is installed so i guess my actual question is how do I get my other software to show up in the filder as "Computers with *Software Installed* installed?"

I'm not sure what i did see some of the software we listed but I guess it must be around manage software part and an action.

You need to make sure there isn't a duplicate Software Resource created by Inventory. Sometimes, if you don't add a Package and Command lines to an existing Software Resource created by inventory and create a Software Resource from new, when that Software is inventoried it might create a new, duplicate, Software Resource. You can right-click > Actions > Merge...
