I have a Windows 2000 SP4, Citrix Metaframe XP server that I have recently removed all versions of Symantec due to an unclean upgrade awhile back going from Corporate Edition 10 to Endpoint version 11.  I also used CleanWipe as recommended and provided from support.  So, I did a clean install of only the Anti-virus/Anti-spyware client.  However; I am seeing a ton of TCSCAN (#). dat files taking up space on my machine.

What are these for if the network protection is not present?  Is it possible to remove these or move if absolutely needed?  Is there anyone to limit the number of VirScan.dat files as well?  I have limited space on this server, want to keep it protected and managed by SEPM, but want to know if there are settings I can change or a way to move the Anti-Virus files such as these to another partition on the same server?

    Thanks.
