  • 1.  SPC2-Deepsight integration

    Posted Sep 22, 2011 06:28 AM

    HI,

I have been working with deepsight recently and am looking to integrate deepsight-TMS into it.

So far i have gone through the process of registering my license (using a .slf file) and registering my new account. However i am wondering, once the registration process has happened, do i always have to use the link on the deepsight page within SPC.  Since when i use that link i end up navigating away from SPC2.0.

Should i not be able to access my deepsight account/reports from within SPC2.0? If so, how do i do this, as i seem to only ever get the registration page.

    Greetings Jack,

The solution to your issue is to right click on the link and choose to open the DeepSight link in a new tab or new window. This will keep you from navigating away from the SPC 2.0 Web Console.

At this time the full DeepSight integration has not been achieved. We do however provide the link you are referencing to streamline your point of access to the DeepSight Portal and have integrated three points of data from the DeepSight service for free within SPC 2.0.

On the right side of the dashboard you see the Threatcon Status, DeepSight Display, and Top Corporate Threats. In addition you see new vulnerability alerts in the middle portion of the screen and various reports have portions of the DeepSight Data we provide integrated into them.

For a specific example of this you can look at the Specific Malware report and look at the data under the Malware Statistics Section and the Threats and Risk Information Section.

We hope you find these items useful, and hope you understand this is the first stage of further integration efforts.

As you can imagine there are lots of ideas about additional points of integration, and the means to do this. Keep checking back and look for other improvements with this product integration for future releases.

Thank you for your question and please let me know if I can help you further. Please remember that if you have any ideas for the SPC product you can create and track that suggestion by using the IDEAS suggestion feature of Symantec Connect.

    Regards

While we have no problem answering questions about any topic related to Symantec Protection Center, please remember to start a new thread for any questions that don't directly relate to the topic currently being discussed. This will help everyone be able to keep track of the various topics more clearly.

    Thank you
