  • 1.  SQL DB Sizing for a large install

We are evaluating sep for a large install.  I've looked at the Symantec DB sizing document, but was also hoping to get some first hand samples from the trenches.  What volume of client log entries (system client server activity, client activity, security, traffic, etc.) do you see per client?

Any suggestions on estimating DB size?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Symantec has an internal excel sheet that will calculate the DB size and I guess if you email Symantec support the number of clients, heartbeat time, how much/long you want to keep the data, which functions of SEP will be installed, they will give you an estimate of the DB size. I would say prepare for a huge database :)

    It's not an internal document.
