    Posted Nov 09, 2010 02:50 AM

I have Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition version 8.1.0.825, Scan engine version 4.2.0.7 installed on WinXP.  The virus definition file is at version 10/18/2010 rev. 2.  Clicking through the LiveUpdate screens reports "All of the Symantec products installed on your computer are currently up-to-date."  My employer's VPN policy automatically disallows access to their network if a client's antivirus software is more than one week old.  I'm currently locked out... Please help!

FWIW, I haven't installed any other software recently.  Still running IE7.  System is otherwise fully patched.

Looks like at least one other user has encountered the same issue: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/welcome-new-symantec-connect?page=1#comment-4760491

Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition version 8.1.0.825 is not a supported version. The best way is to upgrade to 10.1 at least. It is recommendable to upgrade to SEP 11.0.

Anyway try by updating the client manually. You can download the update file(*.*-i32.exe) from here
