  • 1.  Sublayers have different PackageID

As what I say, there are some PackageIDs in different sublayers, which are all belong to a same Patch, who can tell me why is that? How can I resolve it? How can I make these IDs accordant?

    I need reason and solution.

A single bulletin may apply to multiple (10?) operating systems and architectures.  So you'll see a software resource--with its own GUID--that contains a file like windowsxp-kb12345678-x86-enu.exe, and another one with windows7-kb12345678-x86-enu.exe, and another windows7-kb12345678-x64-enu.exe, and so forth.  Each of these software resources has separate applicability and detection rules.  When a software bulletin is made to apply (as part of a policy) to a certain computer, it becomes eligible for all resources.  It uses applicability rules to determine which software resource it should download -- e.g. Windows XP 32-bit would download windowsxp.kb12345678-x86-enu.exe.  Then it uses the detection rule to determine whether it needs to be executed.

Does this answer your question on why you might be seeing multiple software resources for a single bulletin?

Hello mclemson,i think you misunderstand my discription.

The truth is that, one site server(named A) downloads pmimport.cab and other cabs and bulletins from Symantec, and other site servers download pmimport.cab and other cabs and bulletins from A.

Now every site server can download cabs successfully, but when download bulletins, it maybe fail, it shows me that the GUID ({2jej-9kls-a093-jdks-oq9} for example) doen't exist.

I find that the same bullin in different site server has different GUID, when the GUID is different from A, it must be fail to download.

Can you understand me? My English is very poor.

But I need the answer, I need to know how to resolve it.
