We're running 9.5.3-3 on an 8220 appliance currently.  I'm trying to find out the recommended hardware to run 9.5.4 - 10.

Every article that I've seen on Symantec.com and elsewhere only lists the unsupported hardware.

If I can, I'd like to reuse another server that's due to be pulled as opposed to purchasing an appliance if at all possible.

So, what processor, RAM, Hard drive, etc must the unit have to run for a few more versions?

    As always, Thanks.

This product cannot to be installed on anything but Symantec certified Dell appliances and inside a Virtual Machine running on VMWare's ESX, ESXi, and vSphere products.

You should find a machine that is supported by VMWare's ESXi software since that is a free product. Once it is installed, you can run us on a virtual machine by following the steps in our Installation Guide:

    Hi Davis

We have a 8240 appliance (unsupported). This means tha symantec is not offering support for version 9.5.4 on 8240 appliances or that version does not work at all on that hardware.I am planing for an upgrade from 9.5.3

    Thanks

We did not test it, so we cannot guarantee its functionality. Those very old servers simply do not have enough RAM and other resources to run the current software efficiently.
