    Hi all,

    Recently, we had to reinstall our SEPM on our server. We were at 11 MP4 and took the opportunity to upgrade to 11 RU5.

    Unfortunatly, during the reinstallation process, we've lost the internal database and had to recreate everything in the SEPM.

    All our clients were running SEP 11 MP4 managed, but after reinstalling the SEPM no client came back ... I started to redeploy the new client but the client would not show up in SEPM as managed (no green dot) and the client them selves could not connect to the SEPM server. There were no green dot and it was showing "Offline" in the support section.

    I investigated and found that replacing the client's SyLink.xml with the one from the server works. The only problem is, how do I deploy the new SyLink.xml to everyone fast ?

    I did notive a change between the old and new SyLink.xml...the new XML has a HTTPPort :

    <Server Address="10.10.10.14" HttpPort="8014" HttpsVerifyCA="0" VerifySignatures="1" />

    The old one does not :

    <Server Address="10.10.10.14" HttpsVerifyCA="0" VerifySignatures="1" />

    Have I done something wrong during the update ??

    Thanks !

    There is no need to replace the sylink manually .You can either use any of the 2. They will replace the sylink automatically on all the machine

     After looking at your sylink it looks earlier you had SEPM installed on port 90 ( default in version before MR3 )

    then in the install you installed SEPM onm port 8014 ( default MR3 onwards )

    You can use Sylink Replacer utility to replace sylink.xml on all the clients at once and fast
    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/downloads/sylinkreplacer-tool-connecting-sep-clients-sepm

    Read the PDF that comes with the tool to know how to use it..

    Great ! Thank you guys :) I've began to spread the new SyLink around and it seems to be working fine overall. I'll upgrade during the week end.

    It's great that SEPM is pushing automatically RU5...old clients running MR4 are updated to RU5 within 30min after I pushed the new SyLink and the client get managed.

    :)
