Client Management Suite

Hi,

Let me tell you the background information, we have many plants and Head office.

our head office has active directory service, and our plants doesn’t have active directory services. we have successfully implement CMS 7.1 in our head office.

my question, can we implement CMS 7.1 in all of our branches as stand alone server specific to branches without having active directory services ?

Do you not have communication to the plants?  If you do have any communciation then the agent will still work on the workgroup bases PC's since the agent (unless otherwise configured) uses local system account for elevated rights when executing tasks. 

If the plants are disconnected and require their own stand alone SMP's then it is my understanding that will work also.  Though I have never tried it.  I would probably install sql or sql express locally on the server to keep down on account issues with database.

Thanks for the information, we do have communication but, i don’t want to centralize it.

I would like to use as standalone machine. Apart from using Sql server locally what are the other things I have to follow in order to work stand alone server.

We already have Altiris Client management suite installed in our head office. I am thinking about creating site server for the branches.

Any idea about creating site servers ??
